WHO I AM
A senior governance, risk & assurance executive.
I am a senior governance, risk and assurance executive, admitted lawyer and experienced adviser with more than 15 years’ experience across government, higher education, community services, insurance and corporate organisations. I have advised Ministers, Boards, Councils, Audit and Risk Committees, Vice-Chancellors, Chief Executives and regulators, and led governance, risk, compliance, internal audit and integrity functions in large, complex and highly regulated environments. I established my consultancy to give organisations direct access to practical, senior-level expertise that strengthens accountability, supports sound decisions and builds lasting capability.
HOW I ADD VALUE
I bring an unusual combination of executive leadership, legal insight & hands-on delivery.
I have built and modernised enterprise governance, risk, compliance and assurance functions; developed risk appetite statements, assurance maps and key risk indicators; led organisational reform; and supported oversight of operations involving thousands of staff and significant public assets. I translate complex obligations into clear decisions, proportionate controls and practical actions, working collaboratively with leaders and teams to deliver improvements that are credible, sustainable and suited to the organisation.
Corporate Governance
I review, design and strengthen governance frameworks, decision rights, delegations, policies, committee structures and executive reporting. Drawing on experience advising senior leaders, Boards, Councils and oversight bodies, I help clarify accountability, improve the quality of decisions and establish governance arrangements that remain effective through growth, reform and organisational change.
Risk
I help organisations establish, review and embed enterprise risk management that supports strategy and day-to-day decisions. Services include risk frameworks and taxonomies, risk appetite, facilitated assessments, key risk indicators, control effectiveness, assurance mapping, emerging risk advice and executive or committee reporting—designed to strengthen ownership without creating unnecessary process
Audit & Assurance
As an experienced Chief Audit Executive and internal audit leader, I provide independent, practical assurance focused on what matters most. I can support internal audit strategies and plans, audit delivery, assurance mapping, control reviews, audit readiness, issue validation and remediation follow-up, with clear findings and recommendations that help leaders improve performance and accountability.
Compliance
I help organisations understand and manage complex statutory, regulatory and policy obligations through clear, risk-based compliance arrangements. Services include obligation registers, framework and program design, gap assessments, monitoring and reporting, incident and remediation governance, regulatory readiness and capability uplift. My experience includes rebuilding enterprise compliance functions and overseeing programs covering hundreds of legislative obligations.
